Awful countdown... Weekend Countdown 7/27/24 - Sabrina Carpenter (5)

Coming out of the is Carry You Home. This is a really beautiful song originally made for Alex Warren's wedding. I'm glad he stopped making cringe YouTube videos, and went to music, because this and Before You Leave Me are great songs.

Hit-Bound:
Benson Boone - Death Wish Love (2)
Halsey - Lucky (Debut)
LISA - Rockstar (5)
mgk/Jelly Roll - Lonely Road (Debut)
ROLE MODEL - Scumbag (Debut)
Alessia Cara - Dead Man (2)
Hayes Warner - Predator (2)
Kesha - JOYRIDE (3)
Joe Jonas - Work It Out (2)
Charli xcx - Apple (2)
Paul Russell/Meghan Trainor - Slippin' (2)
CYRIL - Stumblin' In (3)
Dasha - Didn't I (3)
Gracie Abrams - I Love You, I'm Sorry (2)
flowerovlove - Boys (3)
Post Malone/Luke Combs - Guy For That (Debut)

Lucky was not the comeback Halsey was looking for, Lonely Road is a rock remake of Country Roads? Weird. Guy For That is more random Post Malone-country-midness, and Scumbag is a pretty nice song!

Blurbs:
Why'd Whoops leave? It was doing really good on spins?

Why did Treadmill and Hotel Party have to drop?

I wish WOMAN'S WORLD a horrible future.

Make You Mine needs to go away.

Hits 1, why the heck are you keeping I Can Do It With A Broken Heart at #16? When it was getting a spin or two a day, it was #11, but now when it's getting 70 spins, it's 5 spots lower? If this doesn't hit #1, I'm gonna be furious.

Please leave, I Don't Wanna Wait. Thanks.

Okay, how is the top three THAT..? Espresso and Too Sweet both got dropped this week, yet they held their spots? This is some ridiculous stanning going on. Also Illusion? I thought you were dead! You can go next week. Pull a Satellite please. And how the heck is Good Luck, Babe! dropping? It's #2 in plays behind The Door (which DROPPED!), and is actually on the survey! I'm done. See you in the next post.

Do the survey please?

Nothing's reached past mediocre, and thankfully I don't think anything ever will.

I hope you guys eat this review up! (ATE Album Review) [15,000 Pageviews Special PART 1]

Yep, I didn't think I'd be making a review for this album, but I listened through Stray Kids' new album ATE, and it was... something. Now, how did I find this album? New Music Friday on Spotify! I found one of the songs of this album, went to the album, determined 8 songs would be easy, and started this! Let's get into it!

#1: MOUNTAINS (5/5)
Now I'd like to preface this by saying I have no idea of what they're saying 99% of the time, and I don't know any of the members' names... Yeah, this wasn't the greatest idea. I can tell what vibes I get from the songs, though. This one is a super hype song, and it's kind of a banger! It reminds me of Crazy Form by ATEEZ, that got in the Mediabase Top 50 earlier this year. If this is how the rest of the album will be like, I made a good choice picking this one!

#2: Chk Chk Boom (4/5)
This one's another fun one. While the voices may be a bit grating at times, it's still got great vibes. The production is a little underwhelming compared to other songs on this album though. It's still a really solid song though.

#3: JJAM (5/5)
Another hype song, which I love. This one is such a banger. The production is awesome, and their voices are really nice on this one. I love all the different vibes during this song, and all the beat switches. It feels like an adventure, which is awesome. Probably my favorite song so far, and I don't know if it can be dethroned.

#4: I Like It (5/5)
This song's production reminds me of some other k-pop songs. It's a decent bit slower than the last one, but it's still a vibe. The song itself is quite good, and the voices aren't bad at all. Pretty good song!

#5: Runners (3/5)
This one feels kind of generic, if you know what I mean. I feel like I've heard 5 other songs just like this. It's still a fine song, but it's definitely not anything special. Their voices get kind of annoying at times. I've realized I don't really like the baritone range, probably because I'm a soprano.

#6: twilight (3/5)
[Insert obligatory ballad here]. This one does at least have evolution, but ballads don't do much for me when you have no idea what they're saying. It's a nice song, but I just can't really enjoy this one.

#7: Stray Kids (3/5)
Here's the self titled track, and it's definitely a song! This one gets kind of annoying at parts, and feels pretty bland. The "stray kids!" in the chorus is super annoying, and production gets annoying at parts too. Their voices are good here though. Onto the last song, which is...

#8: Chk Chk Boom (Festival Ver.) (5/5)
This is the second album that has a "remix" of a song already on the album, with the first being LOOM. This version fixes the problem I had with the original with the production being bland. This one definitely has great production, and fixes that problem. I would love to hear this one at a festival, like the title says!

BONUS: Lose My Breath (ft. Charlie Puth) (5/5)
This one won't count towards the overall score, because it wasn't on the album, but I think it'd be fun to include this one. I love the production here, and the Stray Kids sound great, along with Puth (who should be declared a bigger artist). This one managed to get in the Mediabase Top 50, and I can see why. This one's super fun, and I wish this was on the album.

Overall Score: 33/40 (83%) - Good
Favorite Songs: JJAM, I Like It
Least Favorite Songs: twilight, Stray Kids

So yeah, this was a pretty good album! I'm glad I stumbled upon this, and I possibly found a song or two I'd go back to! I hope you enjoyed the first post in this 15,000 Pageviews Special! I know this was a weird album for me to review, but thanks for staying until the end! Before you click off this page, can you fill out this form to help me out? Thanks for reading (and hopefully filling out the form)!

This review has been LOOMing for awhile... (LOOM Album Review)

Imagine Dragons is back with a brand new album, LOOM. It's been two years since Mercury, and LOOM is sort of a return to form for Imagine Dragons. I really enjoyed the 2 pre-release singles, Eyes Closed and Nice To Meet You, so I was eager to hear this one. Did LOOM live up to my anticipations? We'll find out, starting off with...

#1: Wake Up (5/5)
The first track off this album (and I believe the focus track) is quite a banger. This one feels like something AJR could make, which is definitely a compliment. I love how fun this one is, and it definitely could've been the lead single instead of Eyes Closed. Maybe if it was, they'd have a radio hit this era!

#2: Nice To Meet You (5/5)
This one is so fun. The "nice to meet you" repeating under the lyrics is such a nice touch. It was definitely a grower though, as when I first heard it, I thought it was super mid. So, that goes to show you can like songs after you hear them multiple times.

#3: Eyes Closed (5/5)
So this one's the lead single, and rightfully so. This one feels like a villain song in a good way. I could totally see this being used in some sort of Hunger Games way. This one's fun, catchy, and villainous. Yep, it's a banger. I really don't know why this one flopped on Hits 1 and CHR/Pop.

#4: Take Me To The Beach (4/5)
This one's a pretty solid Imagine Dragons song. The production is groovy but the chorus and Dan Reynolds' voice are super annoying. I may get used to it over time, but for now this one is not a 5/5 for me.

#5: In Your Corner (4/5)
Another solid song, but not one I'd come back and listen to. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, it's just not my song I guess. It's a little slow for my liking, but Dan sounds good in this one unlike Take Me To The Beach. It does have a nice outro though.

#6: Gods Don't Pray (3/5)
This one reminds me of Enemy in a very good way. It has the problem of Dan's vocals sounding terrible again. The production is awesome, but the vocal effects and overall effects kind of ruin this one for me. It also gets pretty boring at times too.

#7: Don't Forget Me (5/5)
For some reason, this song is oddly nostalgic to me. It reminds me of my childhood, and it's quite a beautiful song. Dan's vocals sound really good on this one. This is one of the rare slow songs I actually like that doesn't progress much. So congrats to you for making such a lovely song.

#8: Kid (3/5)
The production on this one is nice, but this one is really annoying and repetitive. Dan's vocals sound really bad again, and the effects are not great either. Definitely one of the weakest tracks on this album.

#9: Fire in The Hills (5/5)
Yet another beautifully written song, and one with a great meaning. The production is quite good and Dan's vocals are pretty good on this one. This is definitely one of the better songs to choose as a "closer" to the album. You may be wondering why there were quotations there, and that's because of...

#10: Eyes Closed (ft. J Balvin) (4/5)
Yep, the remix of Eyes Closed is on the album. I haven't seen a base version of an album have a remix on it, and the only album that I can think of with a remix on is Midnights (Til Dawn Edition). J Balvin really doesn't add anything to this song, and he kinda makes it worse, because he takes over the second verse. Yeah, I don't know why this is on here...

Overall Score: 43/50 (86%) - Great
Favorite Songs: Wake Up, Nice To Meet You
Least Favorite Songs, God's Don't Pray, Kid

So yeah, this was a pretty good album, with some high highs and low lows. The main problem here was the vocal effects, while the songs were good. This was pretty fun to make, so expect more posts soon! I'm about 25% through the TTPD + The Anthology review, so expect that relatively soon, along with some other stuff!

Swag Tracklist

Justin Bieber just announced that he is dropping a new full-length album tomorrow, so here is the tracklist confirmed by a billboard. It is ...
