Does this EP leave a strong impression? (SIS (Soft Is Strong) Album Review)

KATSEYE is a new K-Pop girl group, and their two single Debut and Touch made it on to Hit-Bound, with the second one even making the Weekend Countdown. This EP felt pretty promising, so I decided to review it! Let's get into it, starting with their debut single...

#1: Debut (5/5)
This was funnily enough KATSEYE's debut single, and it might be their best song. The production is just so good, and every member sounds good here. I really enjoy the rapping inspired section here, and I think it fits the band really well. I hope they more stuff like this in the future.

#2: Touch (5/5)
This was the radio single, and I think they definitely made the right decision picking this one. The production is really great here, and the girls sound great too. I did get a bit sick of this song, but after not hearing it for a while, I like it a lot more. I wish this was a bigger hit.

#3: My Way (4/5)
This song is a bit slower, and I do quite enjoy it. Everyone sounds good here, and the production is pretty good too. My only problem is that this song just feels a bit repetitive, and feels a bit outdated as well. It could benefit from being a bit faster as well.

#4: I'm Pretty (4/5)
This is yet another song that just feels a bit bland and boring. Everyone sounds good and the production is great too, but I feel like this song has some missed potential. I feel it could've evolved more, and became an even better song over time. It should've also been a bit longer too. Just like My Way, it's a good song that could've been great.

#5: Tonight I Might (3/5)
This whole EP's problem is being bland and outdated, and this song once again proves that. This time, some people sounds worse than others, and I don't really like the production. The writing and composing also feels weird for some reason, and it doesn't feel cohesive at all. I wish we ended on a good note, but I guess we didn't

Overall Score: 21/25 (84%) - Good
Favorite Songs: Touch, Debut
Least Favorite Songs: Tonight I Might

This EP was pretty disappointing overall. The two best songs were the two singles, and the rest I will probably never listen to again. It wasn't a bad listen, but just really forgettable. That's all for this post, see you in the next one!
