I've listened to Forever Young a couple times, and I've decided I really don't like it. David Guetta's production is so annoying, and Ava Max doesn't even sound great here. Whoever is singing for Alphaville sounds pretty good though. If they really wanted to play Forever Young, just play the original.
Well that's interesting. Born With A Broken Heart debuted while having 0 spins outside of Hit-Bound this week. I think the last time this happened was with Kelsea Ballerini and Halsey's The Other Side (remember that one?) or Maren Morris's The Bones. I'm not really mad, as this is a really good song. I love the production, and Damiano's voice has always been really pleasant for me. Also the key change at the end really reminds me of Good Luck, Babe!, a song I also really love.
Lady Gaga is back! Well if we ignore Harlequin and DWAS she is. She's here with the lead single from LG7, and I love it. The production is so amazing, and she sounds really good. This was a perfect song to release before Halloween, as it reminds me of Bloody Mary. Anyways, I hope this does great on here.
This song really should have debuted last week, but Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me) is finally here. This one is pretty great. The production is great, and LISA's voice is a bit annoying, but still tolerable. I hope this does well.
The (presumably) next single off of TTPD debuts, and it's So High School. I honestly didn't think they were going to let this one debut, but I'm so glad they did. The production here is amazing, and Taylor sounds amazing like always. I'm glad they chose a song off of The Anthology, and I'm super excited it was this one. This also explains her VMA outfit (her and Travis's high schools were yellow and black), but then that would make us think Down Bad is next, which I would really not prefer. Now I have an excuse to put this one on my year-end list.
Hit-Bound
Gigi Perez - Sailor Song (3)
JENNIE - Mantra (4)
Balu Brigada - So Cold (6)
The Weeknd/Anitta - São Paulo (Debut)
Jason Derulo/Jawsh 685 - Make Me Happy (2)
almost monday - can't slow down (Debut)
Hayes Warner - ZIP (4)
Gracie Abrams - That's So True (3)
Akon - Akon's Beautiful Day (2)
Damiano David - Born With A Broken Heart (SB)
Jessie Murph - Sip (Debut)
Henry Moodie - good old days (5)
Halsey - Panic Attack (2)
Myles Smith - Wait for You (10)
Dasha - Bye Bye Bye (8)
Lawrence - Whatcha Want (8)
Hits 1 picked up on São Paulo, despite Timeless being pushed to CHR/Pop. This one's really fun. The Weeknd sounds good, and so does Anitta. The production is amazing, and I believe this one got pushed this week as well, so I hope this does something.
almost monday finally debuts on Hit-Bound with can't slow down. I've known this song for a while, and it's really good. The production and vocals are good, and the vibes are amazing. I don't know why they didn't pick up on this one during summer, but it's better late than never I guess.
Is it impossible to not pick up on EVERY Jessie Murph song? Sip is super boring. The production is decent, but Jessie sounds as awful as ever.
We lost Invisible and Take A Bow this week. I can't remember what either of these songs sound like.
Abyss
Charli xcx/Ariana Grande - Sympathy is a knife
Billie Eilish - WILDFLOWER
Kylie Minogue - Lights Camera Action
Chappell Roan - Pink Pony Club
Sabrina Carpenter - Bed Chem
Alex Warren - Burning Down
Gracie Abrams - I Love You, I'm Sorry
Chappell Roan - Femininomenon
Notes:
- We lost Not Like Us, I Had Some Help, Belong Together, 360, and Good Luck, Babe! this week. Not Like Us and 360 were robbed, but more so Not Like Us, Belong Together was getting old, and I Had Some Help and Good Luck, Babe! had amazing runs, so I can't really complain.
- Hey Katy's actually doing something!
- Glad APT. is doing good so far.
- Oh, so NOW It's ok I'm ok does something after I forget the song even exists? Great!
- So they're finally jumping on board with Criminals!
- Looks like Austin is done now, but it's looked like that at least 3 times before this so I don't even know anymore.
- WE PRAY jumped 11 spots? I thought this was done, but I'm happy it isn't.
- Why is Hits 1 so anti-Taylor for TTPD? I guess it's fair though, because So High School seems to be next. Lets hope that one hits #1!
- Okay, what's up with songs having massive rebounds this week? I'm glad Dancing In The Flames got one, but that was out of nowhere.
- Looks like Die With A Smile is coming for #1. I'm not too mad about that.
- And Billie holds at #1!
Ever notice how Timeless is actually a really common song title? Meghan Trainor, Taylor Swift, and now Playboi Carti & The Weeknd have used it
