No exits, but still an active countdown! - Weekend Countdown 7/12/25 - ROLE MODEL (2)

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another post! Hopefully I will be consistently putting out these Weekend Countdown posts from now on. This week was quite puzzling, because even without any exits/debuts, it was one of the most active weeks we've seen in a while. Also, make sure you get your votes in for March Madness, as the final round will be opening tomorrow (Yes, I skipped the semi-finals). Hit-Bound
Kpop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden (3)
Justin Bieber - DAISIES (Debut)
Reneé Rapp - Mad (3)
mgk - vampire diaries (Debut)
jasontheween/d4vd - Summer Uptown (Debut)
Kehlani - Folded (3)
BLACKPINK - JUMP (Debut)
KATSEYE - Gabriela (Debut)

PinkPantheress - Illegal (2)
Alessi Rose - That Could Be Me (4)
SUPER-Hi/NEEKA - Following The Sun (6)
AJR - Betty (Debut)
Conan Gray - Vodka Cranberry (Debut)
flowerovlove - new friends (3)
People R Ugly - BETTER (2)

Justin Bieber is finally back, and he returns with DAISIES. This song is not bad, but I think ALL I CAN TAKE should have been the single. The production is good, but pretty slow. Justin sounds as great as always, but I wish the song was a bit faster, especially when AICT is right there for the perfect single choice.

Did anybody ask for more mgk? Well I certainly didn't. vampire diaries sounds like a mix between forget me too and Lonely Road, and it's actually not that bad. mgk doesn't sound great, and the production isn't the best either, but I wouldn't turn the station if this came on.

Hits 1 newcomer jasontheween released a new song called Summer Uptown on Wednesday, and it features d4vd. This song is surprisingly great. Both jason and d4vd sound great, and the instrumental here is amazing. The summer vibes here are amazing, and we definitely need more songs like this for this summer. I really hope this does well.

BLACKPINK is finally back together after every member's solo album/EP, and they return with JUMP. This song is amazing. I think it may be the best song I have listened to by BLACKPINK. The production is amazing here, and it really makes me want to jump, pun intended. Every member sounds great here, and I especially love the chorus with Jennie and Rosé. The ending key change is amazing, and it's a perfect way to end the song. I can't wait to see the full album now.

Next up we have another K-pop song, which is Gabriela by KATSEYE. I don't know the members of KATSEYE as well as I do with BLACKPINK, but I know that everyone did great on this song. I really love the instrumental here, and it gives off perfect summer vibes to me for some reason. I really hope this does well.

Thomas Day seems like the next Hits 1 plant, and he's back with she got a thing about her. I don't hate this song, but it's very forgettable. Thomas Day sounds alright, and the production is pretty good. I like this song right now, but I'll probably never come back to it.

AJR is finally back! I really enjoy this new song, Betty. Apparently, naming your song Betty is a guaranteed way for me to like your song. betty from folklore, Betty from AJR now, and who could forget the infamous Betty (Get Money)? Jack sounds great here, and I really love the instrumental here. I hope this does well, and I don't really doubt that it will.

Closing off our debuts is Conan Gray, who makes his grand return with Vodka Cranberry. I really like this one. Conan sounds great, and the production is just as good. The instrumental reminds me of You're Gonna Go Far by Noah Kahan, and I really liked that song. This song's getting a radio push, so I hope this does well.

Dropouts:
All Time Low - Suckerpunch (4)
KATSEYE - Gameboy (2)
Jessie Murph - Touch Me Like A Gangster (5)
Benson Boone - Mr. Electric Blue (3)
Kesha - THE ONE. (2)
Lizzo/SZA - IRL (2)
Twenty One Pilots - The Contract (4)
Lorde - Shapeshifter (2)

THE ONE. finds itself in the abyss. I won't really miss any of these songs besides Mr. Electric Blue (which has a chance to make the countdown with a proper push) and The Contract.

Abyss (spins as of Saturday at 9:35 am)
Kesha - THE ONE. [25 spins]
Mariah The Scientist - Burning Blue [22 spins]
Avril Lavigne/Simple Plan - Young & Dumb [19 spins]
Damiano David - The First Time [17 spins]
Tate McRae - Revolving door [16 spins]
Shinedown - Three Six Five [13 spins]
Maren Morris - lemonade [10 spins]
Ed Sheeran - Drive [10 spins]
Ed Sheeran - Sapphire [10 spins]

Exits:
Justice/Tame Impala - Neverender [15 weeks]

Notes:
- Just Keep Watching dropped 11 spots, which makes sense since it didn't get a radio push, but it's streaming great and deserves to succeed.
- Anxiety FINALLY fell, and hopefully this means it's on its way out. This song had a super high burn rate, and I find it very annoying.
- Abracadabra seems to be on its way out, and while its still a great song, I can't really complain. It got six weeks at number one, which is way more than I thought it would.
- Busy Woman is freefalling, which is honestly justified. Manchild is like a Busy Woman 2.0, but it does everything better. Speaking of which, Manchild looks to be in line for the next #1.
- No idea how End of the World and Azizam are still rising, but I'll take it.
- Love Me Not is still stuck in the bottom half of the countdown, which makes no sense. It should be in the top 5 by now with nothing really in its way.
- Sally, When The Wine Runs Out held onto the top spot once again, and it's totally deserved. This is a perfect summer song, and if it gets a bigger push on streaming, then it could go down as one of the songs remembered from summer 2025.
