A long overdue number one - Weekend Countdown 3/15/25 - Gracie Abrams (1)

Hello guys, and welcome back to another countdown post! This week was relatively slow, except for getting a new #1. Before we get into the countdown though, I just wanted to let you know I'll be extending the deadline for March Madness until next Sunday, March 23, as only Zestpond, Hallett, and I have signed up. Please do that by clicking here. If anyone can advertise this on the Discord, Matrix, or anywhere else, that would be greatly appreciated. Now into the countdown, starting with our exits.

JENNIE released her new album Ruby last week, and the Dua Lipa collab called Handlebars debuts today. I really enjoy this one. JENNIE and Dua sound great here, and the production is a bit slow, but I still really like it. I would've preferred like JENNIE over this, but this is the second best decision they could've made.

Halsey returns with a new pop-punk vibe, and debuts with safeword today. Even with a brand new style, I really like this one. Halsey sounds really good, and the production is great too. I feel like she could've gone a bit more in Ego's direction and still have been fine, but this is still a really great outcome.

Biggest Jump: Tie between Benson Boone - Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else [#24 to #17] and Lizzo - Love in Real Life [#23 to #16] (+7)
Biggest Drop: Tie between Doechii - DENIAL IS A RIVER [#25 to #29] and Tate McRae - Revolving door [#19 to #23] (-4)
Last Year's Number One: Dua Lipa - Houdini (7/8 weeks at #1)
Favorite Song Last Year: twenty one pilots - Overcompensate
Least Favorite Song Last Year: Ariana Grande/Mariah Carey - yes, and?
Recommendation for Hits 1: Tate McRae - Siren sounds

5 Oldest Songs:
1. Lady Gaga/Bruno Mars - Die With A Smile [30 weeks]
2. ROSÉ/Bruno Mars - APT. [21 weeks]
3. Morgan Wallen - Love Somebody [20 weeks]
4. Gigi Perez - Sailor Song and Alex Warren/Joe Jonas - Burning Down [19 weeks]
5. Shaboozey - Good News, Gracie Abrams - That's So True, and Chappell Roan - Pink Pony Club [17 weeks]

Cil - You're a Liar (You Love Me) (2)
Ashley Cooke/Joe Jonas - All I Forgot (4)

Chappell Roan finally released her song called The Giver, and it did not disappoint. I really love the country productio here, and I think it suits her really well. She sounds amazing here, and I really love how the whole song is so cohesive. I hope this does really well, and I have no doubt that it will.

Lizzo released another new song on Thursday called Still Bad, and I think this in on par with Love in Real Life. Lizzo sounds as great as she usually does here, and I really like the production as well. This reminds me of her last album, and I mean that in a good way. I hope this does well, but also doesn't sabotage Love in Real Life.

j-hope makes his solo debut on Hits 1, and teams up with Miguel for Sweet Dreams. I really enjoy this one. j-hope and Miguel both sound good here, and I particularly like j-hope's rapping. The production is great, and it reminds me of summer. I hope this becomes a big enough hit to make it to summer.

Closing out our debuts we have Knox, because of course they had to pick up on his new song. Weirdly enough, they missed You Happened from a few weeks ago. I wish they had picked up on that one instead, as 50/50 is not as good. Knox still sounds good here, and the production is good too, but it's just a bit forgettable. I think I'll probably forget what this sounds like by next week.

Dropouts:
Lady Gaga - Garden Of Eden (1)
Daniel Seavey - Lose Me Like You Mean It (1)
LISA - FXCK UP THE WORLD (Vixi Solo Version) (2)

Garden Of Eden is in the abyss, so hopefully that debuts next week. FXCK UP THE WORLD deserved better, and good riddance to Lose Me Like You Mean It.

Abyss
Billie Eilish - WILDFLOWER
Damiano David - Next Summer
Eminem/Jelly Roll - Somebody Save Me
Hayes Warner - Oh!
Lady Gaga - Garden Of Eden
Sabrina Carpenter - Busy Woman
Pitbull/Bon Jovi - Now or Never
The Marías - No One Noticed
Tyla - PUSH 2 START
Vella - All My Love

Notes:
We lost two songs this week, which are Slow Motion and Oscar Winning Tears. this week. I was never that big of a fan of Slow Motion, and Oscar Winning Tears. deserved better.
- Why did DENIAL IS A RIVER drop?
- Nice to see all the debuts from last week making solid jumps this week.
- Why isn't luther in the top 15 yet?
- Sailor Song and Love Somebody are getting really old and annoying, so they have been demoted to the new Coral tier. Confused on what that means? Click here to see my color coding for my countdown posts and more!
- Why is Sports car falling? It should be moving up, not down!
- We really need to clean out the top half of the countdown, as it's getting really stale. The only songs that are actively rising are Abracadabra, toxic till the end, and Good News.
- That's So True finally hit #1, and while it has faded on me a bit, I still think it fully deserves to reach number one for a few weeks.

Well, it looks like you've reached the end of this post. That's it for me today, see you in the next post!
