Her dominance this year is insane - Weekend Countdown 10/19/24 (Sabrina Carpenter - 1)
Hey guys! Sorry I'm so late again. This countdown was pretty good, with 2 not-so-great songs leaving, and one really great debut. Hit-Bound wasn't as great, with some pretty good song leaving, but some equally as great songs debuting.

Last Year's #1 Song: Tate McRae - greedy (1/11 weeks at #1)
Charli brings her third song onto the countdown, and it is my favorite non-single from the base album. However, she Ariana Grande to get on the remix, which originally I was disappointed by because it was speculated to be Taylor Swift. Anyways, this song is seven better than the original. They both sound great, and the production is amazing.
I'll take Lonely Road, I guess. We could've had Burning Down, So High School, Moonlit Floor or I Love You, I'm Sorry though...
Hit-Bound
Dasha - Bye Bye Bye (6)
ROSÉ/Bruno Mars - APT. (Debut)
Ava Max - Spot A Fake (5)
Gracie Abrams - That's So True (Debut)
Kylie Minogue - Lights Camera Action (4)
Balu Brigada - So Cold (3)
JENNIE - Mantra (2)
David Guetta/Alphaville/Ava Max - Forever Young (Debut)
Morgan Wallen - Love Somebody (Debut)
Gigi Perez - Sailor Song (Debut)
Jelly Roll/Halsey - Take A Bow (2)
Hayes Warner - ZIP (2)
Knox - Invisible (6)
Lawrence - Whatcha Want (6) (Re-entry)
Henry Moodie - good old days (4)
Myles Smith - Wait for You (8)
We now have 3 Blackpink soloists with songs on Hits 1, as ROSÉ joins JENNIE and LISA. She teams up with Bruno Mars of all people for APT. Apparently this is a drinking game in Korea, but that's beside the point. This song is such a banger. Both of them sound good, and the production is great. I also have had the chorus stuck in my head on and off this entire week, so that shows how good this song is.
Gracie Abrams released the deluxe of TSOU the day before she opened for Taylor Swift again, and That's So True would definitely be a vault track in another life. It sounds like a carbon copy of Risk, so I'm guessing this song was created first, scrapped, and remade into Risk. Anyways, I still love it. I loved Risk, and I love the same things about this one. The production is still great and Gracie sounds as amazing as always.
Ah yes, the king and queen of sampling sample a song together. Forever Young is pretty decent. They all sound good, but I can't really get into EDM production. It just sounds so off to me and so repetitive. This is getting a radio push, so I could defintely see this one debuting in the near future.
Speaking of songs getting radio pushes, Morgan Wallen is getting one with his new song Love Somebody. This is his most pop-friendly song yet, and it's pretty good. The production kinda sounds like Training Season, which is a good thing. Morgan's voice isn't too bad here either. I hope this has more success than Cowgirls.
Newcomer Gigi Perez makes it on Hit-Bound with her viral hit Sailor Song. This one is also pretty good. Her voice is good, and the production is pretty alright as well. I don't see this doing much, but I wouldn't be mad if it did.
And we got Whatcha Want back. I guess I'll take it.
We lost Moonlit Floor, Burning Down, Bad Dreams, Silverlines, I Never Loved You, and KID AGAIN. The first two are in the abyss, and the rest deserved a chance at debuting.
Abyss
LISA - Moonlit Floor
Alex Warren - Burning Down
Taylor Swift - So High School
Gracie Abrams - I Love You, I'm Sorry
Chappell Roan - Pink Pony Club
Chappell Roan - Femininomenon
Sabrina Carpenter - Bed Chem
Eminem - Houdini
David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don't Wanna Wait
The Kid LAROI - GIRLS
Notes:
- We lost Pretty Slowly and Miles On It this week. Good riddance to both.
- So Katy's flopping, who would've predicted that?
- Hopefully The Emptiness Machine keeps jumping!
- When's the last time someone has gotten the biggest jump two weeks in a row? I Am Not Okay is definitely a good song, but let's keep it below #15.
- Good Luck, Babe! looks done. I can't really be mad with how well it did.
- Why's Die With A Smile dropping?
- So Taylor's peak didn't last long?
- Looks like Ego and Close To You were in fact NOT done! Glad to see that.
- Nice rebound for Stargazing!
- HOT TO GO! gave up #1 to Taste, but I don't think it's done yet. I feel like the top 5 will be a warzone in about 2 weeks with HOT TO GO!, Taste, BIRDS OF A FEATHER, Stargazing, and Die With A Smile all fighting for #1. Taste deserves the #1, just as a reminder of Sabrina's total dominance this year.
Well, that's it. See you guys in the next post!
