A fifth Hunger Games book?

A fifth installment in Suzanne Collins's hit book and movie series called Sunrise on the Reaping is coming March 18th, 2025 with a movie hitting theaters on November 20th, 2026. 

According to the Amazon description, "Sunrise on the Reaping revisits the world of Panem twenty-four years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the Fiftieth Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell."

We know from previous installments in the series that for the Second Quarter Quell, twice the amount of players (2 boys and 2 girls) were reaped for the Games. Haymitch Abernathy from District 12 won this games by taking advantage of the fact that the forcefield surrounding the arena could be used to bounce things off of it. In his final battle with a District 1 career girl, he dodges her axe attack and letting the forcefield bounce the axe back, killing her and crowning Haymitch the winner of the 50th Hunger Games.

The movie will obviously be written by Suzanne Collins, and will be directed by Francis Lawrence. No cast has been confirmed as of August 10th, 2024.
