DISCLAIMER: NO POETS WERE TORTURED IN THE MAKING OF THIS POST (The Tortured Poets Department Album Review) [15,000 Pageviews Special FINALE]

Does Taylor Swift even need an introduction? She's grossed over 2 BILLION dollars from her record-breaking Eras Tour, and became the TIME'S Person Of The Year in 2023. Most recently, however, she released her album The Tortured Poets Department. It released at midnight on April 19th with 16 songs. She surprised us all when 2 hours later, she made TTPD a double album by releasing The Anthology, including extra songs, four of which being advertised on the Special Editions of the album!

It's now been over four months since TTPD + The Anthology released, and I've let myself gather my opinions on all 31 songs. Today, I'll be ranking every single one of them.

THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT:
#1: Fortnight (ft. Post Malone) (5/5)
Now when this one came out, I thought it was not a good choice for the first single, but I've actually kinda grown to like that decision. This is just a really fun song, especially when you hear it out in public. My one main complaint about this is I wish there was more Post Malone. Now, he does get the outro (the best part), but I'd like to see what would happen if he got more on this song, kinda like Snow On The Beach.

#2: The Tortured Poets Department (5/5)
This is allegedly about Matty Healy, which I can definitely hear. He apparently likes typewriters, so "You left your typewriter at my apartment, straight from The Tortured Poets Department" makes a lot of sense. It has fun production and Taylor sounds great as always. Also the lyrics on this one are hilarious, including the chocolate bars and the Charlie Puth namedrop. So yeah, The title track of is yet another solid addition to the album.

#3: My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys (5/5)
So in this one, Taylor is a toy, and Joe keeps "breaking" her. That's a really interesting concept for a song, and the lyricism here is fantastic. Yet another fun bop, and one I could definitely see as the next single, even though there are a ton of better choices in my opinion.

#4: Down Bad (5/5)
So in this song, she's not actually "down bad" for a boy, she's more "down, bad(ly)" if that makes sense. This one's a pretty fun song, although it's a tad bit slow for my liking, but it's Taylor so I don't really mind. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention I'm a huge swiftie? Another fun fact, this song has more swear words in it than the entirety of her first 7 albums!

#5: So Long, London (5/5)
Track #5's on Taylor Swift albums are normally the most heart wrenching songs on the album, and this one follows that. It's about the end of her relationship with Joe, and it's a parallel to London Boy, her love song about Joe. The chorus at the beginning is fantastic, and the whole song is amazingly written. Definitely one of the best songs lyrically on the album

#6: But Daddy I Love Him (5/5)
This one is about the swiftie's opinion on her and Matty's relationship, and how it upsets Taylor. But, in the end it turns into a love song about Travis (which is why this and So High School are mashed up on the tour). This song is such a fun song, and the vibes with this one on the Eras Tour is unmatched. Yet another fantastic song.

#7: Fresh Out The Slammer (4/5)
I didn't like this one a couple days ago, but it's really grown on me. This is a pretty fun song, with a sick beat switch at the end. I never really thought Taylor would do a song about prisons, but here we are. It's pretty fun, but nothing super special.

#8: Florida!!! (ft. Florence + The Machine) (5/5)
This song was actually inspired by how stereotypical serial killers all move to Florida, so that's interesting. This song is awesome. The production for one is fantastic, and Florence's part is way better than Post's. I love her third wall break at the end of her verse. But the best part easily has to be the bridge, it feels like everything built up to this "duet", it's awesome. Can't believe this one didn't make the setlist. Oh yeah, future Bubby here. It made the setlist for London N8 and it was so fun. Might be in the top 5 performances on the whole tour honestly.

#9: Guilty as Sin? (5/5)
This is the type of song that's not really even that memorable, but gets stuck in your head for like a week straight. It's a pretty solid song with nothing really wrong about it, but just not really my thing if that makes sense. Also, this is one with a funny abbreviation, being GAS. Literally ⛽.

#10: Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me? (5/5)
Another song off the setlist, and it's such a banger. It's about when you feel like you're underestimated, and how you're much stronger than you put on, and that's so relatable. This is such a good one to scream in the shower to. If you can't tell, this is one of my favorites.

#11: I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) (1/5)
Probably the worst song on either side of the album is this one. It's just so boring, and I've never really even bothered to listen to it. From what I've heard, it's about her thinking she can fix her crazy boyfriend (Matty), but in the end she realizes she can't. Yeah, pretty stupid idea in my mind. So yeah, pretty bad song.

#12: loml (5/5)
Big debate, how do you pronounce this one? I love lommel, but ell-em-oh-ell is apparently the right way. Anyways, this title has a double meaning, where in the beginning it means love of my life, but in the end it means loss of my life. I find this genius, personally. This is quite an emotional song, which could definitely be a Track 5 if not for So Long, London. It's about Taylor being in love with Matty, then finding out he isn't the one. It's a ballad, which is fine when it evolves, and it certainly evolves. Fantastic song.

#13: I Can Do It With A Broken Heart (5/5)
The 2nd single off of the album (and the best single choice in my opinion) is a banger. It's about how she puts on a good show for her fans even through her breakup with Joe. This song doesn't have a bridge, which normally I would care about, but it works so well that I don't. I love the performance of this one on the tour, especially the modified "try. and come. for. my. job". Such a fantastic bop, and I'm really glad this is officially getting pushed.

#14: The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived (6/5)
Yep, I know I look like I'm copying Hallett but I'm not, I swear. This one starts on as a ballad for the first 2 or so minutes, and quite a good ballad at that. Towards the end of the second verse and into the second chorus, you can feel something's about to happen, and boy is something happening. The bridge might be the single best piece of music I've heard in a long time, especially the live version with the marching band. It sounds like she's screaming, but it's not. It's just such a good song to scream along to wherever you are. Then, it all comes down with the outro, and it's over. What a great song. Might be towards the top of my year-end list, if I ever do that.

#15: The Alchemy (5/5)
This is one of the love songs about Travis, filled with references about football. There's also some drug references for some reason? I love this one. There's so many videos on the Olympics using this one and I love those too. The production so fun, and Taylor sounds really good here.

#16: Clara Bow (5/5)
One of the sleeper hits on this album, and the first one where Taylor says her name! This one is such a great song. It's slower but also one of the more upbeat tracks on the album. It's title represents the silent film actor Clara Bow, who was that generations "it girl", and the struggles that come with always being in the spotlight and being famous. She does such a good job writing this, and allegedly the song's about Olivia Rodrigo. I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Apparently WAOLOM is about Olivia too? I don't see that one, but I can see this one. Anyways, the last line "The future's bright, dazzling" is a great way to end the incredible first half of this album.

THE ANTHOLOGY:
#17: The Black Dog (5/5)
Another power ballad with evolution, and it seems like a diss to Joe. The Black Dog is a bar in London, and apparently Joe Alwyn's favorite bar at that! I love the evolution in this one, especially the long notes at the bridge. The bridge is one of the best bridges on the album, and the bangs during the "screaming" are so reminiscent of Florida!!!, and that's a good thing. I could see this becoming a fan favorite, and it's definitely one of my favorites of The Anthology.

#18: imgonnagetyouback (3/5)
This song has a very similar concept with Olivia Rodrigo's song get him back! of wanting to get back with your ex, even though you know it's a bad idea. In my opinion, Olivia does it better. This one gets kind of annoying, and just doesn't sound great. The bridge is pretty okay, but nothing's really pulling me back this song.

#19: The Albatross (5/5)
This song is super fun. When I hear this, I can't stop thinking of a bird destroying humans. It's kind of like geese generally being absolute terrorists. Anyways, it's one of those songs that isn't anything amazing, but it's super catchy, which makes you love it. And I do love it!

#20: Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus (5/5)
I don't know why I really like this one. It's just a normal ballad, but Taylor does it so well. The piano here is really nice. Also this is another one with a really funny abbreviation, COSOSOM. It just looks stupid. I love it.

#21: How Did It End? (5/5)
Fun fact, I purchased the digital version of this one, and it's very good. I love the piano on this one, and Tay's vocals here are amazing. I don't really know what this one is about, but I don't really care. It's amazing.

#22: So High School (5/5)
This is a love song about Travis, and the only song from the Anthology to be on the setlist, deservingly at that. I love this one. It's about how Taylor feels like she's back in high school, dating "the guy on the football team". It's so fun, especially the choreo on the tour. It's packed full with Travis references, and when Travis is at a show, she does his archer pose before the song starts. If there's a single off the Anthology, I hope it's this one.

#23: I Hate It Here (5/5)
This one's a slower song, but it's not too slow to the point where it's boring. I actually love this one, and I have the live version of it! The song's very relatable, and the lyricism here is awesome. I don't know what else to say about this one, besides it's a really solid song.

#24: thanK you AiMee (5/5)
Look! It's a Kim diss track! It's all about how thankful she is for her beef with Kim, because it showed her so much success. A good amount of her success from 2016-2018 would not have happened, and a whole album too! This is such a catchy song with great production and vocals, and another great Anthology single candidate.

#25: I Look In People's Windows (5/5)
The shortest Taylor Swift song ever, right ahead of Now That We Don't Talk. This is a really fun song but I wish it was a bit longer. There's a mashup between this and Death By A Thousand Cuts you can find on YouTube that's really good as well.

#26: The Prophecy (4/5)
This one is a little bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the album, but that doesn't mean it's bad. This one kinda blends together with other songs like I Hate It Here and How Did It End?, so it feels less original. That doesn't mean I don't like it, as I find it a solid song, just the fact that there is a ton of ballads on this half of the album.

#27: Cassandra (4/5)
I assume this one is also about Kim and Ye, but I don't really know. This one is a solid piano ballad where Taylor sounds really good, but it's just a bit boring. It feels like a little bit of a let down compared to the rest of these songs before it.

#28: Peter (5/5)
If I had a nickel for every time Taylor Swift referenced Peter Pan in a song, I'd have two nickels, which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice. This is a slow ballad, but it's just beautiful. I love ballads when they're performed by the right people, and Taylor is definitely the right person. There's another song on this album that's very similar to this one coming up soon.

#29: The Bolter (5/5)
Fun fact: this is the song I got the special edition bundle with! Kinda glad about that, as this is my 2nd favorite of the pre-advertised bonus songs. It's kind of a country song, but a good country song. It's just a fun song, with great production and great vocals on top of that. I may not come back to this one often, but when I do, it's a good time.

#30: Robin (5/5)
This one's quite an innocent song dedicated to her producer Aaron Dessner's kid also named Robin. It's a beautiful song, with the pianos and the production. Also, that one part sounds like the "truth, dare, spin bottles" part in So High School. Awesome song.

#31: The Manuscript (5/5)
The final song of this review, and it's beautiful. This song is basically the continuation of All Too Well, and it references a ton of stuff, even the filming of ATW10MV's short film! It's just a beautiful song, and the piano is amazing. The last line of the entire album "But the story isn't mine anymore" ends the album perfectly, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to end this review.

THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT Overall Score: 75/80 (95%) - Great
THE ANTHOLOGY Overall Score: 71/75 (95%) - Great
THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT + THE ANTHOLOGY Overall Score: 146/155 (94%) - Great

What an album. I love this album so much, and even the ones I gave 3 or 4s on are still songs I wouldn't skip. ICFH (NRIC) can go die in a hole however. Thanks for tuning into all of my 15,000 Pageview Specials, and I'll see you in the next post!

#1: Post Malone/Morgan Wallen - I Had Some Help (=) [2 weeks at #1]

Coldplay and a bunch of other people decided to collab on WE PRAY. This one should be a train wreck, but it's actually really good. It's really fun, and the production slaps. Chris Martin sounds good, and overall it's just a fun song.

Wow, Hits 1 really likes songs with all-caps titles today! Kesha FINALLY brings herself onto the countdown with JOYRIDE. This is so fun. The "joyride" part kinda sounds like Lady Gaga, and I think everybody agrees with that. Kesha might sound a bit weird, but I love this. However, Hits 1's radio edit is so bad. They just bleep out all of the swear words, and it really doesn't help in the bridge. I don't get why they use that version instead of the radio edit on streaming.

Benson Boone debuts from Hit-Bound with Pretty Slowly. This is a pretty good song, but a little boring and a little bit too long for what it is. Still a good song though.

Sabrina Carpenter's third single off of Short n' Sweet debuted today, so I'll just paste my review from yesterday into here. A very recurring theme throughout this album is the new love triangle between Sabrina, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes. It's pretty complicated, so I'll explain it simply. Camila and Shawn, together. They break up, Sabrina goes with Shawn. They break up, and Shawn goes back to Camila. Basically this song is telling Camila that when she kisses Shawn, she'll "taste" her. Kind of a weird concept, but the song slaps so I don't care. Sabrina's voice is great here, and the production is great as well.

The last song has been going viral like CRAZY recently, and that's HOT TO GO! It finally debuted! I love this song so much. It's so fun, and the dance is really fun too. I'm so glad Chappell is having her moment right now, as she really deserves it.

Biggest Jump: Khalid - Heatstroke (+8)
Biggest Drop: Teddy Swims - The Door (-4)

Hit-Bound:
Maren Morris - push me over (5)
Myles Smith - Wait For You (NEW)
All Time Low - Dear Maria, Count Me In - ATL's Version (4)
KATSEYE - Touch (NEW)
Addison Rae - Diet Pepsi (NEW)
Koe Wetzel/Jessie Murph - High Road (2)
Tinashe - Nasty (2)
Beabadoobee - Beaches (4)
Jimin - WHO (2)
Benson Boone - Pretty Slowly (SB)
Halsey - Lonely is the Muse (3)
Henry Moodie - right person, wrong time (3)
Jessie Murph/Teddy Swims - Dirty (5)
Dasha - Didn't I (8)
Katy Perry - LIFETIMES (4)
Andy Grammar/Maddie & Tae - I Do (3)

Mr. Stargazing brings us another song, and it's kind of mid. I don't really like his voice, and the mixing is kind of weird. It sounds eerily similar to Carry You Home, but with a worse voice. We don't need to make Myles Smith the next Henry Moodie or Jessie Murph.

KATSEYE is back after flopping with Debut, and Touch is pretty good. The vocals and production are good, but the repeated "touch" in the chorus is what's holding this from a green rating.

Addison Rae's next song has been rapidly climbing the Spotify charts, and I don't really see why. The production is really annoying, and so is Addison's voice. She sounds like a wannabe Ariana Grande. The key change at the end is really annoying. So yeah, stay in Hit-Bound please!

I literally don't know the last time a song Sunday Best-ed, but Pretty Slowly did!

Dropouts:
None!

Wow, a no dropout week with a Sunday Best?

Abyss:
Tommy Richman - MILLION DOLLAR BABY
Paul Russell/Meghan Trainor - Slippin'
David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don't Wanna Wait
The Kid Laroi - GIRLS
Olivia Rodrigo - so american
Moneybagg Yo/Morgan Wallen - WHISKEY WHISKEY
Jelly Roll - I Am Not Okay
Pitbull/Ne-Yo/AFROJACK - 2 The Moon

Notes:
- We lost 5 great songs today. I'm real happy with Espresso's run, but why did MDB flop so hard? The other 3 weren't destined for much, but they'll still be missed.
- Hit-Bound isn't looking too great right now...
-Glad to see all the songs from last week jumping off their debut!
- Make You Mine is back for the 100th time in the top 10!!
- Will Houdini reach its peak again please?
- Yay for BOAF!
- Why isn't Good Luck, Babe! at #1 yet?
- I hope we get a new #1 next week, but if it's still IHSH, I wouldn't be mad.

That's it for now! Cya in the next post!

it's been a long time coming...

Should I keep this review Short n' Sweet? (Short n' Sweet Album Review) [15,000 Pageviews Special PART 4]

Sabrina Carpenter just released her highly anticipated album, Short n' Sweet one week ago to today. Short n' Sweet was led by two MONSTER hits, Espresso and Please Please Please. I figured I should review this album to see what I think of the other 10 songs!

#1: Taste (5/5)
A very recurring theme throughout this album is the new love triangle between Sabrina, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes. It's pretty complicated, so I'll explain it simply. Camila and Shawn, together. They break up, Sabrina goes with Shawn. They break up, and Shawn goes back to Camila. Basically this song is telling Camila that when she kisses Shawn, she'll "taste" her. Kind of a weird concept, but the song slaps so I don't care. Sabrina's voice is great here, and the production is great as well.

#2: Please Please Please (5/5)
The second single is funnily enough, the second song on the album. It's also the worst single of the 3 so far. I wrote a review kind of hating on this one, but I listened to it again, and it's pretty good! Sabrina gets annoying during the "I beg you, don't embarrass me" part, but to be fair that part's awkward to begin with. There's no good edit for that one, although mothertrucker is hilarious. The production gets a bit monotonous at times, but it's still really fun.

#3: Good Graces (5/5)
I love the production on this one so much. It's so fun. Also, I noticed she also said something about "talking cradles" in this one. Maybe she took inspiration from Tay, but we couldn't really know. Anyways, this song's just super fun, and Sabrina does sound great all around, unlike PPP. I actually love her voice in this one. Super fun song..

#4: Sharpest Tool (5/5)
This is the "slowest" song yet, but the production is still pretty upbeat. Sabrina's flow here sounds fantastic, and I do like the production. This one sounds weirdly clear, and I don't really know how to explain it. I feel like this will end up being one of the more forgettable songs on the album, but it's still really good.

#5: Coincidence (5/5)
I think this is another one about the love triangle previously mentioned. The production here is more acoustic than the other songs so far, but I kinda dig it. Sabrina's vocals are awesome here, and the whole song is weird but really good.

#6: Bed Chem (3/5)
So we're too lazy to spell chemistry now? Weird. The production on this one is pretty good, but Sabrina just doesn't sound great here. I think it's the notes but I don't really like the whiny voice that is somewhat common nowadays. Don't get me wrong, people can pull it off, but not often.

#7: Espresso (5/5)
We've arrived at most likely the biggest Pop song of the summer, and it definitely deserves that title. This is so fun. This is also an example of a song with that "whiny voice" that turns out to be a really good song. The production is fantastic, and Sabrina sounds really really great here. Coincidentally, this song also released on the same day as Illusion, a song in my last special post! This definitely ended up aging better than that one...

#8: Dumb & Poetic (4/5)
The first slow song here, and Sabrina pulls it off well. The vocals on this one are off the charts. It's pretty minimalistic production, but those types of songs can work sometimes. The production builds here, and it's awesome. I won't be coming back to this one, but it's still a pretty solid song

#9: Slim Pickins (3/5)
Some of these songs are weirdly country feeling, and this one is definitely one of those. Sabrina's voice is pretty decent here, and the production is solid. One of the funniest lines on the album is here, being "Since the good ones are deceased or taken". I don't know why, but that line made me laugh. There's also yet another Taylor parallels, when she says references But Daddy I Love Him. Yeah, Swifties can find similar lyrics anywhere... Anyways, this song is a pretty decent one, but it's not one going on my playlist.

#10: Juno (5/5)
I love this one. The production is so catchy, and I could see this being the next single after Taste peaks. Sabrina sounds super good here, and the bridge is awesome. I love when the bridge dies down at the start, but grows right back into the normal song. The little musical interlude is awesome, and the ending is great too. One of the best songs on the album.

#11: Lie To Girls (5/5)
This one starts off pretty slowly, but grows about halfway through the song. I love the production here, and Sabrina sounds really good. Towards the end there's this "rapid fire" section as I'd like to call it, and that's awesome. At the end there's a really weird outro section, which kind of makes me think that this song was meant to be the end but they added on the next song...

#12: Don't Smile
This song takes a turn on the classic saying "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" and twists it into "Don't smile because it happened, cry because it's over" which is GENIUS. The vocals on this one are great, and the production is not a lot, but it's good. The harmonies here are great, and it's a great ending to a great album.

BONUS 1: Needless To Say (5/5)
Sike! Sabrina learned from Taylor on how to get the #1 spot, and dropped 2 albums with a bonus track! This is the first one released, and the production here is awesome. She sounds awesome in this one, and that little outro is awesome.

BONUS 2: Busy Woman (5/5)
Sabrina wrote this song just after the album was submitted, so it couldn't be on the physicals, but I guess it could be on a digital! Sabrina sounds awesome on this one, and the production is so fun here. I hope both of the bonus tracks get released on streaming at some point, as they both deserve it so much.

Overall Score: 65/70 (93%) - Great
Favorite Songs: Juno, Busy Woman, Espresso
Least Favorite Songs: Bed Chem, Slim Pickins
Wow, what a greaT album. There were a couPle bad songs, but overall this album was Fantastic. I've founD some New songs to listen to, And I'm glad I reviewed this one! I'lL see you guys in the nExt album review hopefully tomorrow!

I was Radically Optimistic for this album, but it is it a Radical Disappointment? (Radical Optimism Album Review) [15,000 Pageviews Special PART 3]

Dua Lipa released Radical Optimism quite a while ago, and beforehand she dropped three singles (Houdini, Training Season, and Illusion) which perfectly represented how the album would be. You'll see what I mean later...

#1: End Of An Era (3/5)
I find it very ironic that the start of a new era is called End Of An Era. This one's pretty good, but I don't really like the lower range here. It's also just a bit basic for my liking, and it demonstrates a very common problem for me with her music, the burn rate. Burn rate is how fast you get tired of a certain song, and Dua's burn rate for me is VERY high.

#2: Houdini (2/5)
The lead single also happens to be the worst one in my opinion. This one started off really good, but burned so fast it's all the way at a 2. Dua's voice is extremely annoying during the chorus, and the production is pretty good. The post-chorus is super annoying, and the ending is... interesting to say the least. I don't really think this deserved all that time at #1, and there's definitely a better song named Houdini that's come out in the last year.

#3: Training Season (5/5)
Hey, a good song! This one is really fun, and the production is awesome. This is the best single in my opinion. It's just so fun. I may also be a bit burnt out of the others, but they didn't overrate this one to the moon at least.

#4: These Walls (5/5)
This is the album track Hits 1 tried to push when it came out, but we all know that never happened. I wish it was one of the singles though, as it's a really good song. Dua sounds pretty good here and I love the production. It feels like a poolside song in my mind, and I think others would agree with that.

#5: Whatcha Doing (3/5)
This feels like a Kidz Bop song, and I don't know what way I mean that in. This song sounds really good but really bad at the same time, and I really don't know why. Dua sounds kind of annoying here, along with the production. Part of me wants to vibe along to this one, while the other part of me wants to hit skip...

#6: French Exit (2/5)
The drum rhythm is pretty cool, but that's really the only thing going for this one. Dua sounds really annoying here, and it all just sounds off. The production is kinda fun, but feels weird at the same time. Nothing really works together here in my mind, and I don't know why this one exists if I'm being honest.

#7: Illusion (3/5)
I'm really burnt out of this one, so I'm trying to review this one objectively. The production is really fun here, Dua's voice is somewhat annoying all around, but the chorus vocals are super annoying. The "dance all night"s are really annoying in my opinion as well.

#8: Falling Forever (3/5)
So that intro is very surprising to say the least. The production is okay here, and the vocals are pretty annoying. It's a fun song, but it's pretty annoying to listen to. Also, this is rumored to have a music video and be the next single, which I'm not really looking forward to. They should've picked These Walls instead.

#9: Anything For Love (3/5)
Normally there are spoken outros, but this one has a spoken intro! Another surprising thing is it starts out as a ballad? Kinda weird for Dua, but she executes it very well. Then the production changes into some sort of groovy production, which isn't as great. Then it ends right as you think it's getting started... great! It also has a spoken outro as well, but it's not really. This feels like a song from one of the Sing movies (remember those?) if I'm being honest. It really should've been longer.

#10: Maria (5/5)
The guitar rhythm in this one sounds scarily similar to Die Young by Kesha, but no one seems to have picked up on that online yet, which is weird because it's super obvious. That's besides the point though. This is a really great song that I could totally see myself listening to. It's not annoying, and Dua sounds really good here.

#11: Happy For You (5/5)
I believe this one is about wishing your ex well, and she implements it very well. Dua sounds good for once on this one, along with the production. It's the longest song on the album, clocking in at 4:05. The end part is really nice, although having birds at the end is kind of an odd decision. It has a great ending vibe, and is one of the best songs on the album.

Overall Score: 39/55 (71%) - Good
Favorite Songs: Maria, These Walls
Least Favorite Songs: French Exit, Falling Forever
I may have been a bit harsh on this album, but it still classiFies as a good album. There were some low lows and some very high highs on this albUm, but I'm sTill glad I reviewed it! See yoU tomorRow when I post thE fourth part in this 15,000 pageview special!

Hopefully this review "hits" different! (HIT ME HARD AND SOFT Album Review) [15,000 Pageviews Special PART 2]

Sorry this 15,000 pageview special is taking so long, but I'm back again today with Billie Eilish's new-ish album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT. This album has had 2 songs on the countdown so far being LUNCH and BIRDS OF A FEATHER, so I wanted to dive into the entirety of this album. So without any further ado, lets get started with...

#1: SKINNY (5/5)
The first song is a really emotional and slow song, but it's beautiful. Billie sounds as good as ever and I love the piano. The violin is a real standout towards the end of the song, and the transition at the end is one of the best I've ever heard. What song does it transition into? Well, it goes into...

#2: LUNCH (5/5)
The first radio single, and probably the obvious one. This one is super fun, and definitely is one of the summer songs of this year. It flopped pretty hard on radio and the countdown once it hit the top 10 though, which is quite disappointing and not what this song deserves.

#3: CHIHIRO (5/5)
This one is gaining some traction on social media I believe, and it's a pretty nice song. It starts off pretty slow, but picks up speed around 2 minutes in and becomes a really fun song. The production is so good here, and it's a very VERY rare song nowadays, being over 5 minutes!

#4: BIRDS OF A FEATHER (5/5)
The second radio single, and the second song Hits 1 picked up on once HMHAS dropped is honestly the right single choice. It gives perfect summer vibes, and I love it. It's such a fun song, and the production is fantastic. This is on track to become one of her biggest songs ever, and I hope it does.

#5: WILDFLOWER (5/5)
This is one of the slower songs on here, but it has great evolution, and you know I love some evolution! It slows down towards the end, but this is such a beautiful song.

#6: THE GREATEST (5/5)
This one starts off as a mid ballad, but it grows super quickly into a power ballad, and wow. The vocals during that part are insane, it's crazy and fantastic. It slows back down, but that little part saves this song from being a 3 or 4. It reminds me of The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived in a way.

#7: L'AMOUR DE MA VIE (3/5)
This one kind of has a swing-type vibe, and it's kinda cool. About 2/3 of the way into the song, there's a beat switch into a kinda hyperpop section, and it's definitely something. Her voice in there is not great, which I get is the point, but I don't really like it.

#8: THE DINER (5/5)
The vocal effects on this one are awesome, and the production is even better. It kinda gives actual diner vibes, which is hard to explain. It's a really catchy song for some reason, even though it doesn't really work on paper, but I love it.

#9: BITTERSUITE (3/5)
This one starts as hyperpop, but slows down a little bit before a beat switch around 1:30 in. I don't really like how she's whispering in this one, as you can barely even here Billie in this one. Plus the production after the beat switch is kinda weird. The production at the end is really cool.

#10: BLUE (5/5)
And we've arrived at our last song, and it's quite a way to end. The production here is awesome, and Billie sounds as good as ever. The backing vocals are great here as well, and it's almost 5:45. It's another song about color, like Taylor's Red. I love this concept and it's executed really well here. It slows down into a ballad, and turns into something weird at the end, but I kinda dig it. The last line, "But when can I hear the next one?" is definitely foreshadowing something to come.

Overall Score: 46/50 (92%) - Great
Favorites: LUNCH, BIRDS OF A FEATHER, THE DINER
Least Favorites, L'AMOUR DE MA VIE, BITTERSUITE
So this album was a great listen, and I'm glad I finally listened to a couple of these songs! Hopefully see you tomorrow for another radical 15,000 pageviews special post, and I'll see you then.

#1: Shaboozey - A Bar Song (Tipsy) (=) [3 weeks at #1]

Mamushi is so annoying... Megan has a really annoying flow for once and Yuki Chiba's Japanese singing sounds awful. I also wanna Vincent van Gogh my ears off when the chorus hits with the "I get money, I'm a stah (x10)". I heard some kids singing this in public today and it was NOT fun.

Lonely Road is just a middle of the road song, no pun intended. I always love Jelly Roll's voice, but mgk is just not it here.

Shawn Mendes makes his return with Why Why Why, a really nice song to listen to that will probably grow on me even more.

Charli xcx, a rather underground artist before this year, not only scores the highest debut this week, but also has 2 debuts. I think Guess and Apple are exactly what Hits 1 needs right now, fun and upbeat bops. I prefer Apple slightly more, but I love both of them.

Hit-Bound:
Beabadoobee - Beaches (2)
Post Malone - What Don't Belong To Me (NEW)
All Time Low - Dear Maria, Count Me In (ATL's Version) (2)
Lady Gaga/Bruno Mars - Die With A Smile (NEW)
Halsey - Lonely is the Muse (NEW)
Kesha - JOYRIDE (6)
Henry Moodie - right person, wrong time (NEW)
Katy Perry - LIFETIMES (2)
Jessie Murph/Teddy Swims - Dirty (3)
Benson Boone - Pretty Slowly (NEW)
FINNEAS - For Cryin' Out Loud! (2)
Maren Morris - push me over (3)
Andy Grammar/Maddie & Tae - I Do (NEW)
Hozier - Nobody's Soldier (NEW)
Dasha - Didn't I (6)
ROLE MODEL - Scumbag (4)

What Don't Belong To Me is a really solid country song, and Die With A Smile is a fantastic song. right person, wrong time is also a great song, but can Hits 1 NOT pick up on every single Henry Moodie song? Pretty Slowly is an amazing song, and I Do is a really fun summer song. And saving the best for last, Nobody's Soldier is awesome and I'm glad Hozier is getting some recognition.

Dropouts:
Khalid - Heatstroke (1) [ABYSS]
Madison Beer - 15 MINUTES (2)
Joe Jonas - Work It Out (4)

These were all just okay and won't really be missed.

Abyss:
Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us
Jelly Roll - I Am Not Okay
Paul Russell/Meghan Trainor - Slippin'
The Kid LAROI - GIRLS
Pitbull/Ne-Yo/Afrojack - 2 The Moon
Moneybagg Yo/Morgan Wallen - WHISKEY WHISKEY
Chappell Roan - HOT TO GO!
*NSYNC - Bye Bye Bye
Myles Smith - Stargazing
Khalid - Heatstroke
Olivia Rodrigo - so american
David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don't Wanna Wait

We lost Too Sweet, LUNCH, HOT UPTOWN, Summer so hot, and Illusion. Too Sweet had a great run for a relatively unknown artist, Summer so hot really shouldn't have been here but I'm glad it was, LUNCH deserved a little bit more time in the top 15, and HOT UPTOWN and Illusion should've left a lot earlier.

How's Lucky alive still?

Brat Summer is in full force with Charli having her 2 debuts, and 360 having a 9 spot jump into the top 15.

Come on, do something with ICDIWABH!

Somehow Miles On It is in the top 10?

Glad GLB and PPP changed spots, as Chappell definitely deserves it more.

A Bar Song holds, and I'm so happy for it. Great run for an unknown artist.

Well, that's it! See you in the next post!
