AJR is finally back! I really enjoy this new song, Betty. Apparently, naming your song Betty is a guaranteed way for me to like your song. This song, betty from folklore, and who could forget the infamous Betty (Get Money)? Jack sounds great here, and I really love the instrumental here. I hope this does well, and I don't really doubt that it will.
Hits 1 newcomer Olivia Dean makes it out of the abyss with Nice To Each Other. This is a fun little song. Olivia sounds good, and the production is really fun, especially for summer. The writing is a bit repetitive, but this is a really fun summer song that I see growing on me.
Justin Bieber makes his return to the countdown with DAISIES, and this has grown on me in the past week. The production is great here, and Justin sounds as great as always. I think ALL I CAN TAKE still would have been a better single, but this is still a great song.
Saving the best for last, we have BLACKPINK's return with JUMP. This song is so catchy, and perfect to soundtrack summer. Every member sounds great here, but I especially think ROSÉ shines here. The production is amazing, and I love the key change at the end. It's a perfect way to end an amazing song. I really hope this does well, but who knows with K-pop.
Biggest Jump: Tate McRae - Just Keep Watching (+10) [#27 to #17]

Hit-Bound
Alessi Rose – That Could Be Me (5)
Alex Warren – Eternity (Debut)
PinkPantheress – Illegal (3)
Jonas Brothers – I Can't Lose (Debut)
Conan Gray – Vodka Cranberry (2)
KATSEYE – Gabriela (2)
d4vd/jasontheween – Summer Uptown (2)
Jessie Murph – 1965 (Debut)
Thomas Day – she got a thing about her (2)
Reneé Rapp – Why Is She Still Here? (Debut)
Alessi Rose – Everything Anything (Debut)
flowerovlove – new friends (4)

Machine Gun Kelly – vampire diaries (2)
Haven Madison – Castle (Re-entry, 4)
People R Ugly – BETTER (3)
Alex Warren is back with yet another song, and this time it's Eternity. Yeah, this might be his most boring song yet. The lyrics are heartbreaking, and Alex sounds good, but the production is just so boring. I understand why the song is so slow, but I really wish it wasn't, as that would really enhance the song.
The Jonas Brothers are back again with I Can't Lose. This may be the weakest of the three singles from Greetings From Your Hometown, but it's still a good song. All three of the brothers sound good here, although the higher range on the "I can't lose" can get a bit annoying. The production is great here, and I wouldn't be mad to see this succeed.
Jessie Murph released a new album this week, and she's back on Hit-Bound with 1965. Yeah, this is awful. The production is awful, and Jessie Murph sounds the worst she probably ever has. The songwriting here is meant to not be taken seriously, and it does get me to laugh at a few particular lyrics, but I would never listen to this unironically
Reneé Rapp replaces herself this week with Why Is She Still Here?, and it's an improvement from Mad, but worse than Leave Me Alone. Reneé sounds great, and I really love the instrumental here. I still think Leave Me Alone should have been the big hit, but this would be the next best thing
Alessi Rose gets a second song on Hit-Bound this week with Everything Anything, and I don't care for this one as much as That Should Be Me. Alessi sounds a bit annoying during the chorus, but sounds great throughout the rest of the song. The production here is good, but it's so much more forgettable than her past two singles.
Maroon 5 brings their third single from their upcoming album Love Is Like to Hit-Bound this week, and California is just okay. Adam sounds good here, but the production is nothing special and quite frankly boring. I wouldn't voluntarily come back to this one.
Ending off Hit-Bound this week, we have Castle by Haven Madison re-entering. This really didn't need to come back. Haven sounds good, but her voice isn't my favorite. The piano production here is also quite boring. The bridge is good, but the scream-singing after is genuinely horrendous. I have no idea why this song is doing so well on radio.
Dropouts:
KPop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden (3) [Countdown Extra]
Reneé Rapp - Mad (3)
Kehlani - Folded (3)
SUPER-Hi/NEEKA - Following The Sun (6)
Golden and Folded find themselves in the abyss, and I hope Folded gets a chance on the countdown while Golden rots in the abyss. Mad was replaced by a better Reneé Rapp song, and Following The Sun never should have been on Hit-Bound in the first place.

Notes:
- This week we lost NOKIA, 30 For 30, Anxiety, and Abracadabra. We lost a lot of rap music this week, with NOKIA and 30 For 30 both exiting. NOKIA was getting a bit old, so I'm happy it left when it did. I wish 30 For 30 did better, but it still has a solid number of spins, meaning it may re-enter. I could barely even listen to Anxiety anymore because it had such a high burn rate, so good riddance to that. Abracadabra lasted a long time, but I never got tired of it, and I'm super happy with its run.
- The Jonas Brothers took two big hits this week, with LMTH dropping 11 spots and NTTT dropping 7.
- Glad to see Sue me finally rising!
- Tons of well-deserved movement in the bottom half, although I could do without Survive being in that group. Also, Just Keep Watching fell 11 spots, rose 10 spots, and (will likely have) exited the countdown within three weeks?
- Super glad to see the summer smashes like Love Me Not, Mystical Magical, and Manchild finally rising!
- Why is Messy in the top five? Is this going to be a I Love You, I'm Sorry situation where a song not in the Mediabase Top 50 will reach number one?
- Sally, When The Wine Runs Out got dethroned this week by Azizam, and I'm okay with that. SWTWRO did way better than I thought it ever would, and I think Azizam deserves one week at number one before Manchild hopefully gets there next week.
Well that's it for now! I'll see you in the next post, and in the meantime, check out Summertime Showdown!
